Nigeria's leading bank, First Bank in partnership with 3AL Limited, have moved to revolutionize the way consumers and merchants facilitate payment for goods and services via social and new media.
The duo has built a portal to provide various services - retail, insurance products and e-ticketing solutions, in their bid to ease customers' experience.
The portal, www.3al.com, is Nigeria's first social commerce channel, according to findings, and has social media and e-Commerce functionalities.
With its social media functionality, businesses can interact with potential customers while its eCommerce functionality enables online ordering and payment for goods and services, Nigerian Communications Week reports.
The report said the portal which is a self-service tool also enables businesses set up their online store, upload their products and interact with potential consumers.
According to Mr. Akin Fanimokun, head, Technology and Services, FirstBank, the social commerce portal will be a meeting hub for entrepreneurs and small businesses who wish to showcase their services online, as well as shoppers who desire to buy goods at discounted prices.
He also said the portal will serve as a platform for individuals to interact and network with friends and loved ones.
